Sarah Brady Joins Promethean Artists
Promethean Artists welcomes Irish soprano Sarah Brady to the roster for General Management with Callan Coughlan. A graduate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Sarah joined the prestigious young artist program OperAvenir at Theater Basel in 2017. In the 2019 - 2020 season, she became a member of the ensemble at Theater Basel and was nominated as Upcoming Artist of the Year by Opernwelt for her achievements during this year. Since the 2020 - 2021 season, Ms. Brady has been a member of the ensemble of Staatsoper Hannover.
“The journey of an artist is a wild and unpredictable one," Sarah said. “Having people by your side who support and believe in you is a must, which is why being a part of Promethean Artists feels so right to me, with Callan as my general manager.
“Callan and I have known each other since our studies, so that necessary foundation and trust is already there. His experience in this field over the past years and his drive and passion for his artists ensure me that this is going to be a very fruitful and exciting relationship.”
Callan adds: “Having known Sarah since our university days, I always knew she was destined for great things. I’ve closely watched her career develop over the years, and to now have the opportunity to work as her manager at Promethean Artists is a real privilege.”
“She is an exceptional singer with true artistic vision. I am certain that Sarah is on the verge of a major career. We can’t wait to help her facilitate that in the years to come.”
Highlights of Sarah’s 2022 - 2023 season in Hannover include the Swan Princess in Rismky-Korsakov’s The Tale of Tsar Zaltan, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, and a revival of the Governess in The Turn of the Screw, which was nominated as “Important Stream of the Year” by Opernwelt in 2021. Outside of Hannover, Ms. Brady will make her debut with the Nederlandse Reisopera singing Gretel, and make her debut with Irish National Opera as Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte. Orchestra engagements for Ms. Brady include a performance of Jörg Widmann’s ARCHE at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, and Haydn’s Theresienmesse in Utrecht. This year also sees the release of her debut album Matters of the Heart, a CD of Lieder by Robert Schumann and Richard Strauss recorded at SRF Studios in Zürich with Prospero Classical.
