A graduate of the Houston Grand Opera Studio, mezzo soprano Lindsay Kate Brown’s 2023 – 2024 season sees her return to Dallas Opera as the Third Maidservant in David McVicar’s production of Elektra conducted by music director Emmanuel Villaume, as well as an appearance on the Hart Institute of Women Conductors singing “To leave, to break” form Vanessa and “Now, O lips, say goodbye” from The Consul. Ms. Brown also returns to TriCities Opera to conduct All is Calm celebrating the Christmas Truce of 1914. Recital appearances include her solo recital debut at the Morgan Library presented by the George London Foundation with pianist Alex Munger.

The 2022 – 2023 season saw Ms. Brown’s return to Dallas Opera as Flosshilde in Tomer Zvulun’s new production of Das Rheingold, as well as an appearance on the Hart Institute of Women Conductors. Concert appearance include Verdi Requiem with the South Florida Master Chorale. Ms. Brown also made her conducting debut this season with Tri Cities Opera, conducting Amahl and the Night Visitors.

Operatic highlights include her house debut with Santa Fe Opera to sing the roles of Marcellina in Laurent Pelly’s new production of Le nozze di Figaro and Hippolyta in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and her role debut as the Composer in Ariadne auf Naxos with Wolf Trap Opera. Highlights at Houston Grand Opera include her role debut as Gertrude in Houston Grand Opera’s groundbreaking digital production of Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Mary in Der fliegende Holländer, Paula in Florencia en el Amazonas, and covering Adalgisa in Norma and Waltraute in Götterdämmerung. Additional operatic highlights include Zita in Gianni Schicchi, Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Cornelia in Giulio Cesare, Cecilia March in Little Women, Ma Moss in Copland’s The Tender Land, La chauve-souris in L’enfant et les sortileges, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and The Duchess in Samuel Adler’s The Outcasts of Poker Flat. Ms. Brown has also performed in scenes from Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri, Verdi’s Don Carlos, and Wagner's Die Walküre, among others.

Concert engagements include Mahler’s Urlicht and Der Antonius von Padua Fischpredigt, with Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music’s orchestra, and Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen with Mansfield Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Brown also sang the world premier of Santino De Angelo’s Narcissus with Tri-Cities Opera.

Honors and awards include being named a Finalist in the 2019 Metropolitan National Opera Council Auditions, a recipient of a George London Award from the George London Foundation, First Prize recipient in Opera Columbus’ Cooper-Bing Competition, and Third Prize recipient in Houston Grand Opera's Eleanor McCollum Competition. Additional recognitions include receiving a Richard E. Gold career grant from the Shoshana Foundation and recipient of a New Horizons Fellowship from Aspen Music Festival and School.

Ms. Brown holds an Artist Diploma in Opera Performance from Rice University, a degree in Opera Performance from Binghamton University, and Music Performance and Music Education degrees from Mansfield University.
