Praised by Beckmesser for her "velvety voice," mezzo-soprano Isabel Signoret has established herself as an artist of rare stylistic range whose career has been shaped by a decade of distinguished service at the Wiener Staatsoper and an expanding presence on the world's leading stages.

The 2026–27 season marks Ms. Signoret's emergence as a guest artist of international demand. At the Opéra national de Paris, she returns for the culmination of Calixto Bieito's Ring cycle, reprising Wellgunde in Das Rheingold and extending her presence in the cycle with Wellgunde in Götterdämmerung — both conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado — as part of the house's landmark Ring Festival in November 2026. She also makes her Metropolitan Opera debut as Javotte in Laurent Pelly's production of Massenet's Manon, conducted by Yves Abel.

The 2025–26 season opened with Mozart's Requiem with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, conducted by James Gaffigan. At the Wiener Staatsoper, Ms. Signoret made her role debut as Despina in Barrie Kosky's production of Così fan tutte, conducted by Adam Fischer — a role that revealed new facets of her comedic intelligence alongside her already established lyric authority. She also returned to the house as Amando in Le Grand Macabre, the Page in Salome, and Muriel in Animal Farm.

Ms. Signoret spent the formative years of her career at the Wiener Staatsoper, progressing from the Opera Studio through full ensemble membership to her current status as Artist in Residence. That tenure brought an exceptionally wide range of assignments: Cherubino in Kosky's Le nozze di Figaro with Ivor Bolton, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Meg Page in Falstaff, Lola in Cavalleria rusticana, Bersi in Andrea Chénier, Mercédès in Carmen, Fyodor in Boris Godunov, and Amore/Valletto in L'incoronazione di Poppea, among many others. She also appeared as Minerva in Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria in Jossi Wieler and Sergio Morabito's new production with Concentus Musicus Wien, conducted by Stefan Gottfried.

Guest engagements have taken Ms. Signoret to the Opéra national de Paris, where she made her house debut in the 2024–25 season as Wellgunde in Bieito's new production of Das Rheingold, conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado. On the concert stage, she has appeared with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the Tanglewood Festival in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, and made her debut in Handel's Messiah with the North Carolina Symphony. A dedicated advocate for Spanish and Latin American art song, she has presented recitals across Europe and the United States, championing works by Spanish, Puerto Rican, Brazilian, and Argentinian composers in collaborations with both piano and guitar.

Ms. Signoret holds a Master of Music degree from Rice University's Shepherd School of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree with a minor in History from the University of Michigan.
