About

Brooklyn, New York native, soprano Ilanah Lobel-Torres, a member of the Troupe Lyrique at Opéra National de Paris, is rapidly becoming a favorite of European and American audiences for her "honeyed timbre" and profound dramatic versatility. The 2025 - 2026 season marks a series of significant milestones for Ms. Lobel-Torres at the Palais Garnier, highlighted by her highly anticipated role debut as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro under the baton of Antonello Manacorda, as well as singing Barbarina in the same production. Her season with Opéra National de Paris continues with roles as Waldvogel in Calixto Bieito’s new production of Siegfried, Clorinda in La Cenerentola, and Mrs. Schlesen in Philip Glass’s Satyagraha. She also covers the roles of Musetta in La Bohème, Miacëla in Carmen, and Anne Trulove in The Rake’s Progress.

She also returned to the role of Poussette in Manon.

Lobel-Torres’s recent seasons have been defined by high-stakes debuts and critical acclaim. She garnered unanimous praise for her portrayal of Krista in Krzysztof Warlikowski’s production of Věc Makropulos and demonstrated extraordinary artistic resilience by jumping into the role of Beatriz in Thomas Adès’s The Exterminating Angel at less than 24 hours’ notice at Opéra National de Paris, and as the First Wood Sprite in Rusalka with Santa Fe Opera. Other notable roles in include Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro), Madamigella Jouvenot (Adriana Lecouvreur), and the Second Niece in Deborah Warner’s Peter Grimes.
